We are a family-run business from Mitchelstown, Cork. Robbie is a chef by trade and Mary Ellen has worked with adults with intellectual disabilities for the past twenty years. Mary Ellen had an interest in skincare products from her teenage years. This passion stemmed from her insecurity of having freckles on her face. She figured if she could not remove them ( although she strongly considered laser treatment) the next best thing was to take care of her skin. Therefore, for the past twenty years, Mary Ellen has used a lot of different skincare ranges, such as Clarins, Guinot, and Dermalogica. These skincare brands have some fantastic products in their range and have benefited my skin throughout the past twenty years.

In my latter years, I had twin girls and like many women found it difficult to lose the extra weight that I had gained during pregnancy. ( especially as I was older for this pregnancy) I began training once the girls reached two and followed the recommended ‘healthy diet’ that is promoted by Western nutrition. While adhering to this diet, it was difficult to lose body fat. I would be down one week and not the next week and I also felt sluggish and disheartened. I wondered if this was the recommended route to optimal health, then why are so many people overweight and unhealthy? I began listening to podcasts and reading books from doctors and nutritionists that promoted an animal-based diet. I changed my diet to a carnivore diet, high in animal fat, and I began losing body fat. In addition, I noticed an improvement in my hair and skin, particularly on my face. It seemed to feed my skin.

This made me wonder, if animal fat had these positive effects on the condition of my skin and hair, how good would it be in a face cream? This is where Robbie’s skills were needed. We spent months making and testing products, and I knew after using it for two to three weeks that our product was good. Our main ingredient is Beef Tallow and we source our certified organic beef tallow from “The Good Herdsmen” in Cashel through a man named John Purcell. The tallow is of the highest quality, as they run one of the biggest organic beef farms in Europe to an impeccable certified standard.
